Thanks to everyone who ordered stuff from the Axe Cop Wedding campaign!  I’m in the process of getting everything made and orginizing all the orders as I continue to draw the comic, now a married man.  Just to let you know how it all went… we did it!  I would day that the money I made from this site covered close to half of the expenses of the wedding and honeymoon.  The rest came from contributions from family members and from a royalty check that showed up at just the right time.  The wedding was  basically perfect, and the honeymoon was awesome.  Everything went just as great or better than hoped for.

If you ordered, please be patient with me.  Many of you who paid to be in the wedding will be in a scene that is close to the end of the story, so to fulfill those orders I have to get to that part of the story (it is now posting again on axecop.com).

One thing… I did not get enough orders on prints or sketchbooks to quantify the amount I would need to make them completely exclusive.  To make them cost effective, I have to order a certain amount.  So I will have some overflow which I will sell at San Diego Comic Con (at least the prints if I don’t have the sketchbook ready in time).

I just made the final payment on wedding expenses today, now family piles in and any money we get from here out goes toward the honeymoon.  Exciting stuff!  We dreamed this wedding up together and it is really happening.  Thanks to all of you who have ordered anything from this site.

This Sunday is the day!  Thanks so much to everyone who has decided to participate and buy things off of this site.  I had a surprise royalty check show up that covered the rest of my wedding costs and now everything I bring in this month will go toward the Honeymoon.   I am still hard at work on that print.  I finished the inks and now I am adding gray tones…

Woo!  Inks on this puppy are done.  If you see any corrections I need to make feel free to comment.  I already caught that Army Chihuahua does not have on his bullet collar.  I am going to add some color to this (one color for shading) then it will be ready to go.  You can order it from the registry (just get any package that includes the wedding screen print) or you can order the print all by itself here.

Between money I have made here, and over at Bearmageddon with the Bear Battle Print, along with some money from relatives and some surprise royalty money the wedding have been paid for!  We are now raising money for honeymoon and are very close to having all our cabins/hotels paid off for our road trip to Yosemite and Zion.  I’m pretty confident we are going to pull this off!  Thanks to everyone who has pitched in! Getting deep into the bad guys now.  I’ll be releasing the Axe Cop wedding invitation this week too.  We are also working on a non-registry page that works as more of a simple storefront for the final 40 or so days before the wedding.

Update number nine!  Good guys are done… except I just noticed I did not finish Flute Cop’s flute.  Weird.  There are still a few spots I could cram some good guys in if you have any requests.  I have just started the bad guys.

I’ll be revealing the Axe Cop wedding invitation soon, and the Axe Cop & Earthworm Jim print will be available soon as well.  I am considering also doing a short Axe Cop and Dickinson Killdeer crossover to try to generate some more sales.  I am still frighteningly far from covering my expenses and I have a big bill due on the last day of this month.  It’s time to get creative and draw until my hands are stumps.

Here is another update on the screen print!  Good guys are almost done.  Slow and steady wins the race…

My best man and creator of Earthworm Jim, Doug Tennapel and me are creating a team-up piece featuring Axe Cop and EWJ together, drawn by the both of us.  This will be a one-of-a-kind piece, the only piece of art you can drawn by both artists and featuring both characters.  Doug has done his half and is sending me the rest to complete. The screen print is still in progress as well.  I will make both of these items available as soon as possible. I may sell a few prints of the above piece as well, but we will definitely be auctioning off the original.  Whatever we make on it goes to the wedding.

Just to tell you where I am at, my goal amount for the wedding was around 17 to 20k.  This campaign has raised around 6k.  Family members have helped pitch in some other money, leaving me with about 5 to 8 I still need to raise.  The more we make, the more we have for our honeymoon (which so far I have nothing for).

I am going to try to launch a print sale once the screen print is done, and see if any more artist friends will do some team-up pieces like this.  Time to get creative because the wedding is just around the corner!

Alright, 7th update!  Almost got all the good guys, so if you can think of any more please say it soon.  I’ve added every recommendation so far except for “dibs” from the Candy Candy car scene, and I will add him next time.  I also added Chicken Head to the blue lines.

As far as progress goes on fund raising, I’m getting a little nervous.  I am hoping that once i finish this print a new set of orders will come in.  I also need to design the Axe Cop Wedding invitation.  If you would like to order a special piece of original art or anything like that, contact me.  I am currently in a position where I’ll do just about anything within my moral code to pay for this wedding, and it is getting down to the wire.  A big payment is due on the 31st of this month, and another on the 31st of April.
